As a junior, Goran competed in many national athletic competitions after which he became an active recreational athlete.
Since 1994, when he started logging his precise sports calendar, he has been an active recreational athlete.. In 2009 he made an appearance at the Belgrade marathon for the first time, which according to him, meant the start of a a career for the second part of his life.
He has run 29 marathons as of 2009.
In 2012. he completed 10 full marathons for 10 consecutive days between Kragujevac (Srbija) – Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in order to help reconnect the people from these two cities with one another. Besides that, he wanted to motivate the young people with disabilities and to promote the sports potential among them.
He believes that he can run a complete marathon effortlessly and that he is ready at any time to set a new Guiness world record. The current world record is 53 completed marathons in 53 consecutive days.
On the 6th of September 2016, Goran will start an extreme athletic undertaking, running 55 complete marathons in 55 consecutive days through the cities of Serbia, Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.
